El Rey Taco---What a Pleasant Surprise!

Been reading his FB menus for awhile but never ordered before this week.  

His menu is unique in that he mostly offers 2 entrees nightly.  He rotates a variety of meals...and they are just about anything other than tacos!  He delivers for free or you can order and pick up at his place in Chapala.  

Before ordering, I did ask myself this question:  Should I order Beef Bourguignon from a place called El Rey Taco (The Taco King)?
The answer is YES!

I used Whatsapp number 624 358 0247 and delivery was on time (15 minutes early).

Big portion and the meat was very good, the carrots were soft and sweet, along with nice-sized chunks of mushrooms.  The sauce was A+.  Cost 160p.

AFAIK he only posts on FB and his menu changes a few times a week.  If you see something you want, order it earlier in day and ask for delivery at xx hour.  I tried to order this item on Monday around 4:30 and it was sold out!

He is particularly good with fish.

For those of you interested you can use WhatsApp to ask Rey to send you his daily choice on his menu. His message is in English and Spanish with a picture of his plates along with the price. He delivers starting at 1pm.

El Rey Taco is my favorite meal delivery choice. Consistently good quality and service. Plus Marco and Patty, the proprietors, quietly contribute meals and support to people in need in their neighborhood.

His is US grade and served up with delish mash potatoes, veg, fried onions and bacon, I order it everytime he offers it on his special. And his Thursday Bbq is to die for. We have been supporting Marco for 12 years..

Well this sounds really promising. Is this the same fellow who (long ago) ran the restaurant at Chapala Country Club and had the restaurant near Soriana?

I read that chef Marco previously worked at the Chapala Country Club.

They delivered to us in lower Ajijic Centro.

Chamorro with rice, tortillas and their homemade pico delivered last night for 170p.  

Check their site as menu changes every day or few days, with usually two items offered each night.  

When you are, if you are, on Facebook, type El Rey taco in the Search box (upper left). It will take you to their page which will show that day's offerings. After that, just click the Search box which remembers the search. It will then take you to their page. I check it daily. GREAT food! SAME for price and service. Actually, Marco will send you a daily WhatsApp message if you want, but I like to plan ahead too.....

I have been getting the Whatsapp dailies for awhile. But having the weekly email will be even more helpful for planning around our other meals, eating out.

Got both specials delivered last night, Beef Bourguignon and Chicken Cordon Bleu.  Both were terrific, first time trying his Chicken.

Each were 160p. What a bargain!!!

I didn't take a photo, but the Beef Wellington we got on Friday was superb. Tender beef tenderloin in puff pastry. The beef come very rare, as it should. 220 pesos for a meal you'd expect from an upscale French eatery.

Yes the puff pastry suffers a bit from the delivery time (he's in Chapala we are in Ajijic) but still very good.

Got his Coq au Vin a few nights ago. 150p and enough for 2 meals. His French food is a godsend.

Dear friends and customers, El rey taco still o service this week ( from wednesday dec 05th, to saturday dec 09th,  monday dec 11 and last day of service tuesday dec 12th Marco Bouleau have to stop for some period of time and will stop doing food and deliveries from these date... We always be apreciated for your great treat, all of our customers being so kind, however Marco will bring great food on He's New challenge in Florida... Leaving my deep apreciation and love to all of you!!!
