Immigration Forms required????
I do know that this has been asked and answered before but I need the UP TO DATE info.
When flying out of Guadalajara, does a Temporary Resident need to go to Immigration and complete the form to hand in at the airline (American Air)?
I do know that Immigration don't want the part of the form that they used to collect, only your Temporary Resident card.

For American Airlines, I had to fill one out to leave. That was October 5th. The return part was politely set aside when I returned. Better to be safe than sorry.

The jury is still out on this I believe. If I was traveling now, I would fill out the form and take it to the IMN window. If they say you don't need it, then so be it.

Oct. 20th departing INM took my form and Aeromexico took it too. I arrived with filled in forms. Returning Nov. 3rd INM did not want the form.
Since you still have to go to INM, I agree with Bob, take a filled-in form with you.

Why do you "need" to know this ahead of time, oatsie? It's no big deal, just go up to the INM window when you get to the airport.

This is what I did leaving GDL on Nov 22. The officer stamped my passport and said the form wasn't needed. Nor did American Airlines ask for it.

Usually there is a long lineup. I'm trying to avoid that if it isn't necessary.mudgirl wrote:Why do you "need" to know this ahead of time, oatsie? It's no big deal, just go up to the INM window when you get to the airport.

You have to go to INM counter before leaving MX; the only q. is whether they want a FMM card or not.

Not necessarily. When I flew to Canada from the PV airport this summer, the guy at the immigration desk waved me away, saying I didn't need to do anything. He didn't stamp my passport.
The only thing you can rely on is that you can't rely on anything when it comes to Mexican bureacracy.

Re: Immigration Forms required????
Relevant answer, but not exact. My wife and I are Permanentes. We departed on Nov 18th. At the INM office in GDL, they checked our green card and stamped our passport. No one else (ticket agent, gate agent) asked for anything.
We returned to GDL today, and they checked our green card and stamped our passport. That is all. I would add that Delta did not hand out any immigration forms on board inbound to GDL, announcing they "weren't needed anymore." Obviously, not everyone on the plane was a Mexican National or Permanente.
Hope that helps.

Re: Immigration Forms required????
Correct, they aren't using them for tourists either in the airports where they have phased them out. My granddaughter flew down from Canada in early Nov. and the only form they passed out on the plane was the customs form. They just stamped her passport on entry.

Same here Carry, arrived in PV Sat. Dec 5 with Air Transat. Customs form only on plane. Passport was stamped with 180 written on the stamped portion.

When we arrived GDL 03 Nov., ours were stamped by INM and he wrote RP next to it.

Re: Immigration Forms required????
Now see, that makes no sense. I can understand why they would write 180 by the stamp for tourists, and I can understand why they wrote RP on the FMMs, but writing RP next to the passport stamp doesn't serve any purpose at all.

Re: Immigration Forms required????
Just travelled out/into GDL. When leaving GDL, I had to go to INN as normal and get my form stamped. Coming back into GDL, form not needed. They stamped my passport RP.
