Jalisco State Police Discover 3 Kidnapped American Kids in Chapala

Three minors, of American origin, and who had an Amber Alert, were located in Chapala by elements of the State Public Security Secretariat. After being located, they were handed over to the authorities of their country. For this fact, two people were arrested and handed over to the United States Consulate. While doing a surveillance tour of the municipality, the officers noticed that a white pick-up truck, driven by a couple, did not have a license plate and that three small children were traveling in the box, without the respective security measures. The officers asked the couple to stop their march and after asking them to identify themselves, they reported that they were US citizens and provided their names, Miguel and Briana "H", as well as the Morrison minors, of 4, Adam, of 7, and Eric, of 9, so when they were verified in the databases, it showed that the children had Amber Alert in the United States and the adults were required by the authorities of this country, for the abduction of the kids. In accordance with the protocols of this Secretariat, the minors were treated by the specialized personnel of the Police Crisis Attention Unit and handed over to the US authorities for their respective transfer, as well as the couple who were made available to the consular representatives.

Chilling. Sounds like sheer luck that they were caught, with the police happening to be there when they were driving by with no license plate.

I wonder if this was one of those custody issues in a divorce. Poor kids.

We could speculate on it forever, but I am happy that they were found and can be returned to their family.

As you say, speculation is pointless, but I can tell you that there are sometimes good reasons for a family member to "abduct" a child, and returning them to the custodial parent may be the worst thing for the child. Rapists and child molesters have been given court-ordered custody or visitation rights by screwed-up judges.

I knew a woman who was a good and loving mom who "abducted" her child because her husband had enough money to hire better lawyers and custody was awarded to the father. He made it as difficult as possible for her to exercise her visitation rights and was poisoning the child's mind against her mother, telling her that her mother was crazy and a bad person.

She actually turned herself in after a few weeks, as she realized that living a life on the run couldn't be sustained and wasn't good for her or her child.

We shouldn't pass judgement unless we know the real story.
