Globos Regatta

With the threat of rain in the area, we watched our second Globos Regatta at the soccer stadium. It was every bit as entertaining as the last time we went, as the teams were very creative in there balloon designs. A steady breeze blowing off the lake from the south hampered the teams filling their balloons, particularly the large ones, with the result of many catching fire before liftoff and some igniting shortly after liftoff.

There was a large crowd on the field and it was great fun to watch. When the big storm came, we left and walked to Goshas for dinner. As luck would have it, the soccer stadium missed the worst of the storm and they were able to continue releasing balloons into the evening. As we walked back to BOP, we saw one balloon come down behind El Darado but it must have came down on the mountain as we did not see it when we got there.
