Vehicle thefts Empty Vehicle thefts

According to all the reports on FB it seems that vehicle thefts are on the rise around here. One of the easiest, inexpensive and very effective ways to avoid being a victim is to get a hidden "kill switch" installed in the ignition or fuel pump circuits. Unless they find the hidden switch (they won't) your vehicle is impossible to start and steal. They would have to tow it away. I have one in my vehicle.

What does that cost and who does it. I read the key fob lock can be bypassed by the crooks these days.

This is a manual toggle switch that is completely effective. It has nothing to do with the key fob. The toggle switch (get at Steren or any place selling electrical things) is about $100 pesos and whatever a mechanic will charge to install (maybe $300 pesos). Have him put the switch somewhere in the cab of the vehicle like under a seat, in the glove box, under the dash, etc. When you leave the vehicle, you reach for the switch and turn it "off". When you return you turn it back on.

You just need a two point (single pole) toggle switch like the one in this pic from Amazon. If you get a mechanic to install it, I'm sure they could get the switch for you.
