FMM Card Part 2

We had a smooth trip from Orlando and arrived a half hour ahead of schedule. Pilot was probably in a hurry to see his kid's soccer game.

Here was my experience after we got to Guad. We went through the check in line handed our in passports and FMM. He asked where were staying and how long we would be here. He tossed the FMM forms aside and told us they do not use them anymore. He stamped our passports with the days date and sent us off to customs. Bigger line there. They had custom forms in English and Spanish. You fill out one per family. You list how many bags you have, how long you are staying, and if you have any items that are a no no (guns, drugs etc.). When we got to the front of the line, we handed it to the gentleman and he waved us on through. Some people had there bags scanned, but that was not the case for us. We got our bags at the baggage PU, got pesos at an ATM, went to the taxi stand and got a ticket, got a cab (460 pesos). The driver driver did not speak English but it was OK. We got our destination across. He offloaded our luggage and took it up the stairs and I tipped him. He was very professional.

The condos here at Birds of Paradise are quite lovely and we are super pleased with the one we are staying in. The only hiccup is the wireless is poor, cutting in and out. So, I need a computer shop where I can PU a Cat 5 cable to hardwire my laptop into the modem/router. I am sure you guys know where I can go to get one.

We are happy to back in the area after two cancelations due to life's circumstances.

@RoyD   No red light, green light?? They had talked about doing away with them. We haven't flown out of GDL in over a year.

Yes, I second Steren. They can make them any length you want.

I think they got rid of the red light/green light system. It wasn't there when I came through there a couple months ago.

Stopped at Sterens and got a network cable. I am hardwired into the modem and it is working fine. I reported it to the landlord. As a computer tech, I could have fixed it, but I am just a tenant here.

Made a beeline to Ajijic Tango today. The new place is bigger for sure and very nice. Unfortunately, they did not have our favorite pork chops and have not had them for over 6 months. Bwah!. Supply issue for sure.

I can report that there is no shortage of pork tenderloin & pork chops Lakeside.  Tony's butcher shop by Superlake consistently has the best quality pork products I've had the pleasure of cooking. Love their bacon too. DIY or I'm sure Tony's Restaurant can provide you with a delicious pork chop entree. So lucky to have such wonderful family businesses here!

In Ajijic be sure to check out Los Compadres for sushi and seafood (above the Cocktail Bar on Constitucion) and the new "Q" restaurant and the end of the pier.

Tony's is right down the street and Cocinart & Q's is on our list as well. We have two months to sample a lot of places.

Also, Adelita's. What day is there all you can eat ribs?

I do not think they do that anymore...
