Re: Sirius
Their are two Sirius options, one is for your car, and one is for your home. I have had a home unit since about 2002 +or-. Because we are so far south, I needed a larger satellite dish. Instead of the small Dish normally found on a car I have a wall mounted satellite dish facing south that measures 2.5 by 3 inches.
Sadly, recently during a remodel, I dropped my receiver and broke it. Rather than trying to have it repaired, I replaced the XM Sirius radio with a new unit that gets its radio signals via the internet rather rather than via my small satellite dish mounted on an outside wall pointing south. And it also works great.
I'm guessing that because the signal received this far south via satellite is weak, that if you are using same in your car that you will be receiving outages as you move through wooded areas, but I am not sure. I would love to hear how the unit works in a car this far south.

Re: Sirius
Been using our vehicle unit in Mexico for years with very few complaints! Earlier this year, we drove through Michoacan, Hidalgo, Puebla, Veracruz, Tobasco and Chiapas States. Some areas had very heavy vegetation overhead and occasional signal loss did happen. No life altering problems!

As I tried to post above, yes, their receivers will work in your home. There are two types you may choose.
Choice 1. you get a receiver that has a very small satellite dish that you put outside, pointing upward in a southern direction toward their satellite. And you get your radio stations via that satellite
Choice 2. you get a receiver that gets its signal via your internet connection rather than via an antenna outside.

Or if your phone or tablet have Bluetooth capability and you have Bluetooth speaker/speakers - you can stream directly to your speakers using a WIFI connection.
