It is gone. Did it move to a different location or just close.

I imagine a lot of these single purpose, covid testing clinics will be closing down. Canada has eliminated the testing requirement for fully vaccinated visitors and the US probably won't be far behind.

I worry about the "official" testing sites closing down because it's only the "official" sites that are reporting to the government. At home testing is not reported and those that are positive are expected to do all the right things like stay at home, isolate and take other precautions. Oy vey!
Canada and the U.S. are sliding in this direction.
There was a funeral in my family group last week in Canada and now they all have Covid confirmed with home testing. They are all vaccinated and boosted however the four of them are not showing up in any stats.
Assume nothing.

People: what part of “extremely mild sub-variant” don’t you understand? Note vanishingly rare hospitalizations. Also note that 78% of all Covid deaths in the U.S. were among the morbidly obese and diabetic (thank you, Center for Disease Control). Enough hand-wringing.

Those of us with serious respiratory issues will continue to “wring our hands” because we have a very serious chance of dying if we catch any Covid variant.

I'm not too sure what the 78% comment was supposed to infer, maybe for the shock value or that 'the rest of us have little worries'.

I think that the actual statistic from the CDC is "78% of the people who were either admitted to a hospital or who needed a respirator or who died from covid"  were either overweight or obese (no mention of morbidly obese nor diabetic).
And considering that almost half the US population is classified as obese.... a 5'10" male who weighs 175lbs makes that list... and a ton more (pun intended) are 'just' overweight, that 78% comment, even if relevant,  contains a whole bunch of us... like probably most everybody on this Board. So, yes, maybe we should 'all' still be careful.

Just part of the long-term transition from pandemic to endemic. Hopefully we can move to a more individual-based response as well. Those with 'co-morbidities' can distance and mask as needed. Unless something rare happens, like an unprecedented mutation reversal that is *more* deadly, the rest of us can move on.

This is, of course, a sliding scale. The older and more obese you are, the more serious health conditions you have, then the more proactive you need to be. However, outside of living in a literal plastic bubble there is a limit. Society won't survive if we continue to restrict 100% of the population in order to protect an at-risk minority that is highly-vaccinated.

At this point I am more worried about the Dengue Fever that the state has been warning people about lately. I've had it once and certainly don't want it again. It's a killer too.....

Perhaps it would help if the potholes in the streets got fixed BEFORE the rainy season. Potholes are motels for mosquitoes.
