No internet
Well, this is unusual. No ilox, no telmex and no totalplay. Only Telcel.
Anybody know what's up?
I am in Riberas.

Re: No internet
Sounds like a bunch of lines are down. It's fine here in Ajijic Centro.

Re: No internet
Ferret, is it possible you had some sort of CFE incident overnight? Reboot your modems??

Re: No internet
Almost surely lines. My TotalPlay went out, and it was someone trimming tree branches.
Re: No internet
Okay. I have my TotalPlay back. And, yes, I believe there was some kind of CFE problem overnight. The wind HOWLS down San Mateo.
Now I'm going for some lunch... and also to replace one of my surge protectors which is telling me there's been a ground fault.
More later, maybe, still trying to sort this out but my neighbour told me to flip all my circuit breakers off and then back on to see what happens. After I did that, the surge protector fault showed up.
No stats to report as they are still showing March 22nd. results on the federal Covid board.

Re: No internet
I just managed to get it going again. Something wrong with the wifi card (Realtek). I have a call in to Luis Algarin because this is above my pay grade.
I'm sure that this would be resolved IF I could connect the modems with an ethernet cable... neither Totalplay nor iLox nor Telmex have the correct cable for my computer. Arrrrrgh. This computer is less than five years old.
After I talk to Luis, my next step is to go to Steren's and find out if they have the cables I need and/or an adapter.
Such fun. Not.

Re: No internet
I currently have an appointment with Luis... on Sunday at 2:45. He's a busy guy.
In the meantime, I bought an ethernet cable adapter at Steren's. 565 pesos. Plugs into a USB 3.0 port and has the port for the modem cable at one end and three other USB 3.0 ports on the side. I used one of the other ports to plug in my wired mouse (Mike the ComputerGuy warned me a long time ago that wireless mice have more problems than wired mice). I plugged in the wired mouse first and played a game of online cribbage to make sure all was well. Then plugged in the modem cable to it and then the other end of the modem cable into the back of the modem. Then turned off the wifi which has been causing me such grief the past two days. All is well. Internet pages sure load a hell of a lot faster.
Now I realize that I still need the new wifi card but this works in a pinch and at least I can cancel the emergency appointment with Luis so he can spend time with his family on a Sunday.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
