Water Filter Assistance Empty Water Filter Assistance

Did a quick search on the Board without success. We live east of Vista del Lago in Tlalchichilco with good water quality and have a two stage filter system for silt, etc. I decided to replace the filters after our first year of renting here (landlord is traveling and not available). I was told I can get these 20" water filters replaced "almost anywhere". So I did... and now our clean water tastes like it's from a garden hose!!

As in Indian Jones and the Last Crusade, the scene with the old knights templar and the bad guy selecting the wrong holy grail chalice, as he melts away after drinking from the wrong cup the knight simply says, "He chose....poorly!" Well, so did I. I'm in trouble with my beautiful bride.

Can anyone recommend a good lakeside store for drinking water filters. Mil gracias!

I get mine at Pool Stuff on the arterial road, same side and just west of Torito's.

The type of material that the filter is made of may be the culprit. I use the string wound type and am on the same water system as you (I think - in Chrimoyo?) and don't have an issue with taste. Depending on which pozo you are on, you will either have perfectly crystal clear water (La Calma/Las Lajas) that is only about 3 grains of hardness, or quite hard water (La Huerta) which test around 25 grains of iron, or heavily silted water (Tlachichilco system).
