Power of Attorney
My wife and I are likely going to be getting power of Attorney for each other. Would this require seeing a notary or would a lawyer such as Spencer be suffice.
Thank you for any responses.

Re: Power of Attorney
You should know by now that a notary is not a lawyer. A Notario however is a highly qualified lawyer appointed by the State to service a particular district. On the other hand Spenser (who is a lawyer)can give you the correct advice. Give him a call.

Re: Power of Attorney
We did our power of attorney with the lawyer working in Notario 2 office. It included our medical directives as well. Wills are usually done by notarios.

Re: Power of Attorney
Would a power of attorney be considered in the same category as a will?

Re: Power of Attorney
A power of attorney is effective while you are alive. When you croak the will takes over and a power of attorney means nothing.
