Piedras Negras INM Office Empty Piedras Negras INM Office

We'll be crossing into Mexico at Piedras Negras on Monday morning, and we just read a blog post that now has us confused about the location of the INM office to get our visas. Is the office just past the Aduana in Piedras Negras or is it 50 km way down in Allende? Thanks.

Piedras Negras INM Office Empty There are 2 INM offices

We crossed the International bridge #2 at about 9am and did all our paperwork in Piedras Negras just past the Aduana. There were three Mexican custom guys at the Aduana. Our van was loaded and even had a rooftop storage box. The customs guys didn't even blink as we passed them. Then you'll see a two-story building on your left. You take the first turn after the Aduana in front of that building and it leads to a parking lot. After you park you walk across to the building. On the ground floor we waited about 10 minutes and then the immigration guy did the paperwork for our temporary resident visas. Then we walked upstairs and waited about another 10 minutes until the Banjercito woman called me in to do the paperwork for our TIP. The whole process with visas and TIP took under one hour. It was all as easy as could be. Afterward we were already on Highway 57 and sometime later we saw the turnoff for Allende. I don't think it could have been any quicker or easier in Allende, but as always past performance is no guarantee of the future.
