severance pay for a maid or gsardener

I am wondering what the formula is for severing an employee. Secondly if an employee voluntarily quits is there an obligation to pay severance?

If they quit there is no severance other than any vacation pay you may owe them.

There are a number of calculations involved in an official severance pay package. I would suggest that you have Spencer McMullen or ? draw it up on his letterhead and do the money exchange in his office with a witness and signature/dated of the party involved.
No severance is due if the person has worked for you less than three months and, as already stated by CBob, no severance is due IF they quit BUT you DO owe them pro-rated vacation pay AND pro-rated Aguinaldo. I would also suggest that you have them sign/date something stating that they are quitting.
In other words, cover your ass.
