Alex Trebek... gone but not forgotten

RIP Alex.

A man worth reading about.

When I was a kid in Canada, we had two TV channels, so we watched what we could. He was host of a CBC show called Reach For The Top, a quiz show for competing high-school teams. It was quite something to be selected to g on. Later he did a music show from Montreal called Let's Go or something, every Wednesday, featuring local rock bands. So he's a guy who has been present most of my life.

He was a gentleman in every sense of that word. He inspired confidence and respect in and for himself and the program. There were rules that everyone knew and abided by. That became more important as the years went by. He will be missed even by people like me who are not regular viewers of the show.

I hope this is not considered disrepectful, I have all the same memories about Alex, but this is an SCTV parody of Reach for the Top. I think this is comedy gold which many Americans might not have seen.
