Computer service charges
Do service guys who visit the house charges by the number of items/problems fixed, by the hour?
Last year I had I guy visit my house and his fee for less than an hour was 300 pesos
Last week I collect a guy from his office and returned him back, he fixed 4 problems/issues and he charged me 750 pesos, which I thought a bit expensive..but maybe I am out of touch with reality
Any recommendations will be welcome

Guess it depends on the issue. How long was he at your house?

Compared to U.S. price repairs and assuming no parts were required, you got off dirt cheap.
Repairs for labor start around $90 U.S. dollars per hour (1800 pesos) and up.

Sounds like you got the gringo price. I just had a dishwasher repair guy who had to come to my house 3 times. He charged me $900 to get motherboard fixed and $300 labor. I gave him $500 for the labor.

Re: Computer service charges
My price is $250 for a house call of 30 minutes or less. $350 for an hour. Has been the same for quite a while now. There have been many, many occasions when I have charged less for very simple jobs. There have been hundreds of times when I have charged nothing for qualified technical advice, for technical inspections that I could not fix, and so on.
I can also say I have never lied or cheated a single person. Nor have I gotten upset when someone on the phone gasps at my price and hangs up, knowing full well that they have US dollars and a US pension but consider a fee of $250p or $12 US unreasonable.
And there are many times when I have under-charged customers that I know are on a tight fixed income. There's a lady nearby who's health is deteriorating, who loves to care for and feed stray cats, who lives in a tiny tiny room and who's family rarely comes to visit. One day I found $5,000p under her keyboard that her daughter had left months before to pay for some expenses. She thought it had disappeared forever. She practically forced me to take a tip, which I could not do.
Every incident has a story. In my case, you are paying for experience as well as time. But pretty much you are paying just for the time.

In the time it took me to write this... Mike responded. What the hell, I'll post it anyway...
You can send him a pm or an e-mail (shown under his Avatar) or you can call him at 376-765-4156
Because of Covid-19, he is not doing house calls but WILL accept your computer to work on at his home in Riberas. He arrives at the door masked and expects the same courtesy from you.
For any problem that I have had with computers, since 2011 here, I have always called Mike. He even gave my hubby lessons on how to use his iPad. That's a cut above.
He is efficient, prompt, courteous and VERY knowledgeable.
