Stone wall veneers?
Who does this kind of work in the area? I guess it’s a type of veneer and I’d like to see some options for my front wall facing the street. Thanks in advance.

Pedro posted this on TOB. Is this rock work what you have in mind?

Thanks. That’s the idea but with different kinds of stone. So contractors do this or is it specialized, do you know?

I have only seen it done with natural rock one time. That was in Colorado many, many years ago. A couple old guys made a difficult job look simple. I would think that you will probably need someone who specializes in this.

Re: Stone wall veneers?
I have seen a couple of places that sell the veneers. One in West Ajijic on the lake side of the highway and the other in Riberas on the mountain side of the highway. If they sell it, surely they would know who installs their product.
I can't pinpoint the exact locations in my mind at the moment but will get back to you when I do.
Another option is the stamped concrete place beside the Pemex in Riberas. It can be stamped and stained to look like rock or ?
Depends on your budget and what you are trying to achieve. I had to put in a new sidewalk and ramp in the front of my house. It's serviceable but it's not ticking my artistic box. Someday.

I just wonder if it could eventually pop off. Ideas have been rattling around in my head but my front wall needs painting and I’m not in the frame of mind to pick out colors. It takes me forever. If you think of where the places are that sell it, do check back. I’d like to see the options if they’re still in business.
By the way, the ongoing saga with AT&T I’d still droning on.

Our house has extensive Cantera stone veneers, inside and out and rustic wood beams. This is natural stone about 2" thick, with all the tool marks, etc. I could ask the owner where he got this done, but he may not know. Been here a couple of years now and nothing has popped off. The Mason made the mortar too rich, not enough sand, and it is cracking but easy to repair

Re: Stone wall veneers?
I put stonework about three feet high on my front wall six years ago because of poor paint job
s (everyone wants to dilute the paint). It still looks great! Also because of salitre which seems to love Riberas.
Also the paint on the entire property still looks good after six years. Used good undiluted paint!

Yes, salitre is a problem here in Riberas. Not too bad on the front though. Who did the work? Or can most contractors do it?

You need to find a good albanil, a maestro albanil. Mine is long ago retired, and maybe even departed, so I cannot name one for you. I am sure that others may have suggestions.

If anyone else is interested in doing this, you can find an excellent selection of the stone at the place under Sentido restaurant where Avocado Club used to be.
