Re: More on the virus
Thanks for posting that link, Ferret. Scary shit. Meantime I just had to run into downtown Sayulita for something- hundreds of people walking around, virtually no one wearing a mask, including the saleswoman in the pharmacy I had to go into. People packed into restaurants and bars, no distancing, no masks.I feel like I'm living in an insane asylum.

Re: More on the virus
Darn. You just gave this hypochondriac another reason not to return home from Seattle until I get my corona vaccine shot that should be available in late November or December in Seattle, if we are lucky
Up here most everyone wears their masks. I would like to get an N95 mask, the type worn by the medical staff. However imitation N95 masks made in China which is only checked for quality in China not in the US and are neither as good nor as expensive as the real thing and is called a KN95 mask and I was able buy some before I left Ajijic in June to put myself in quarantine
Yes, they were easy to buy lakeside, but rather hard to find up here. It gets worse: this hypochondriac (me) wears surgical gloves any time he (I) leave  my condo unit, even when I go down to the first floor to pick up the mail and return to my unit.
The only reason I am doing this in Seattle and not Ajijic, is I do not know how to cook anything more complicated than a TV dinner, which they don't have down there.

Stay where you're comfortable Pete. Cooking, even if you know how, for one person is a drag. I end up eating the same thing for three days. They have some good frozen entrees in Walmart (Ravioli stuffed with chicken, Lasagna, Canneloni with spinach and ricotta cheese, Chicken Kung Pao and Chicken Szechuan) which I eat with a salad. Or Mom's entrees (Shepherd's Pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Beef Burgundy, Beef Pot Roast, Chicken Lasagna with mushrooms and white sauce) with an extra veg. or salad. All easy and very tasty. Life is fine if a little lonely.

Scallions, your favorite restaurant is open Pete, so you wouldn´t starve to death. In fact, their food is pretty good. About a 100 cases reported in the Chapala Municipio since the beginning, so things aren´t too bad around here. Your Dr., and mine, Dr. Carlos isn´t treating any Covid cases right now.

Shifting to belief in a "Bradykinin Storm" as opposed to a "Cytokine Storm".

The latest from Chapala Expat Liason.
The covid counts are cumulative. Many doctors are not reporting cases in order to avoid household quarantine. The same goes for Dengue to which our beloved Ajijic Delegado Juan Ramon recently lost his wife. Be careful / be safe.

Say what? So the doctors are withholding important health information so that households won't be quarantined, which will lead to the spread of the virus and more deaths? That's criminal.

Seems hard to believe but:
https://www.vallartadaily.com/vita-deyun-first-mexican-treatment-that-proves-effective-against-covid-19/
"Vita Deyun is the first Mexican treatment that has undergone rigorous laboratory tests, but has also proven its effectiveness in more than 7,500 people."
"All the tests yielded highly encouraging results, both to prevent infection and to avoid or reduce Covid-19 symptoms. "
