SCOTUS Rules DACA (Dreamers) Can Stay....For Now
5-4 decision says that current administration did not end DACA properly. But left open that there is likely a way to end DACA legally. Affects ~700K people, many of them born in Mexico.

The court ruled the termination of DACA violated the Administrative Procedure Act (AP) by failing to adequately address the important factors bearing on the decision.
Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the court that the administration did not pursue the end of the program properly.
“We do not decide whether DACA or its rescission are sound policies,“ Roberts wrote. “We address only whether the agency complied with the procedural requirement that it provide a reasoned explanation for its action. Here the agency failed to consider the conspicuous issues of whether to retain forbearance and what if anything to do about the hardship to DACA recipients.”
The Department of Homeland Security can try again, he wrote.

Another reason to vote for Biden...

Making DACA permanent is one thing. If he really wanted to secure their status, he should make them permanent citizens of the U.S. if they want it.

Not to mention: how goes the U.S., so goes the world. And no matter what kind of stinkhole they dig for themselves, that is not going to change anytime soon.

Possible...... but do you not think Canada could have had a positive impact on world affairs if it had been elected...and is newsworthy for it did not achieve (again)
"Canada’s government might have found it ominous that the UN General Assembly scheduled the vote for the two rotating Western European and Others seats on the Security Council on the eve of Napoleon Bonaparte’s defeat at Waterloo.
And in a quick vote that lasted about as long as that battle, Ireland and Norway won. Canada lost, again. Worse than in 2010. It was a resounding repudiation of Canada’s international policy mantra: overpromise, under deliver."

No idea how your comment could be related to this thread.
I would ask that if you are tired of discussions about US politics here, why are you bothering commenting?

Believe it or not, some people take an interest in things which affect others, not just themselves.

...and many of us who moved here from the U.S.have children and grandchildren who are still living there and must deal with WHAT IS, in that country. Surprise? We care.
