Restriction Tourist
Has Mexico, Ajijic, lifted the 14 day restriction for travelers from the US?

Re: Restriction Tourist
I didn't think they had one in place.

Re: Restriction Tourist
Why would anyone be traveling given the various worldwide restrictions that are in place? Covid hasn't peaked in MX yet, but we are now seeing cases lakeside.

If you do manage to make it to Mexico, you will have to undergo and 14 day quarantine and not leave your dwelling. Doesn't sound like a very good trip.

Re: Restriction Tourist
There is a ban on tourists crossing either way at the US-MEX border in effect thru 6/22. Already extended once, and perhaps will extend again. This is for land crossings.

Re: Restriction Tourist
Can tourists just fly in now? Anyway, I don't think immigration is issuing tourist visas, haven't heard they've started back up.

Travel Ban To Mexico
The current non-essential travel ban for land-travel to Mexico for "tourism and recreational in nature" currently expires on June 22, 2020. This action does not apply to air, rail, or sea travel at this time, but does apply to commuter rail and ferry travel.

Re: Restriction Tourist
The OP needs to research and realize that while the US and Canada are mostly past peak (for now), Mexico is just getting into the worst of the virus (same for all of Latin America).
Latest I read was that MEX expects to hit the peak later this month and perhaps not until July.
The OP also needs to know that there are roadblocks into the Lake Chapala area, but I have no idea how that would affect someone coming in a taxi from GDL.

Re: Restriction Tourist
Again thank you for all of the replies. We will try for sometime in July. We would like to spend 10 days in Ajijic as slow paced tourists and visitors. Here in lower SW FL every thing is going great.

Don't you recognize the fact that you are being told that you will not be welcome?

I suspect many don't do the 14 day quarantine thing.Gamina wrote:If you do manage to make it to Mexico, you will have to undergo and 14 day quarantine and not leave your dwelling. Doesn't sound like a very good trip.

Re: Restriction Tourist
I had the same problem not here but with TOB. Suddenly I could not get on TOB. I changed from Telmex to the cable company for my internet and I got right on TOB again, no problem.
Later, I changed back to Telmex Infinitum and it was as if nothing had ever happened. And again I could go to either board any time I wanted.
(And FYI, I'm old fashioned. I'm still using internet explorer, if that makes any difference)

That link works. I tried it in Chrome, IE, and Edge... same error message. Parts of the site are "insecure" (like perhaps the photos), which is probably why. If you click the lock at the beginning of the Web address, you can read the various messages in more detail.

I notice two of my pages are fully secure. The first two that aren't have Google maps and a reservation calender imported onto them.
