The Grand Re-Opening of Jalisco
This is from La Voz de la Ribera Starting Monday, May 18th
It is a piz-poor Google translate but the gist of it is understandable. Glad to see the mask requirement remains in place.
Highlights are:
The Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, announced this afternoon that on Monday, May 18, Phase 0 of the Jalisco Plan for Economic Reactivation will begin, which will allow the gradual return of some economic activities and is the first step in preparing protocols for the next phases of the plan.
Alfaro Ramírez clarified that the start of Phase 0, which will last for at least 15 days, does not mean returning to normality in social life and in the activities of all productive sectors, since an increase in mobility o Flow of people in the city with disorder could trigger the epidemiological pattern and delay the Reactivation Plan.
Restrictions and public activities that are resumed during phase 0:
Social distancing and the use of compulsory mouth masks in public spaces are maintained.
Parks and sports units will remain closed.
The opening of churches will be allowed only for individual visits. Masses, cults or celebrations of the word may not be held.
Public events with more than 50 people and patron saint festivities remain suspended.
Schools of all academic levels will remain closed.
What are the restrictions for services and activities during phase 0?
Gyms, spas, recreational and sports clubs are closed.
Bars, canteens and clubs are closed.
Event halls, casinos, recreation centers, spas, and entertainment industries, such as the cinema, continue to be suspended.
Essential activities such as banks, telecommunications, water, electricity and gas must use their maximum attention capacity and avoid crowds.
Restaurants and cafes will work at 50% of their capacity.
Hotels and motels will operate by keeping the common areas closed.

Re: The Grand Re-Opening of Jalisco
I know two bars that are opening next week regardless of what the Governor says. They say they will wait to be served with new closure paperwork. I don't think they will be.

Who would want to frequent a bar anyway in these circumstances. They may just find that their patrons will blackball them just for their stupidity and that may last a lot longer than the current restrictions. Like, what else are they doing incorrectly regarding people's safety?

I see no change from what we are doing now, except adding another couple of weeks to the "phase".

Resturants/cafe can open at 50% capacity is a major change. Strange document or translation.

You will be surprised how many people will return to the bars. I'm going to start selling masks with straw holes.....lol.

Maybe I am being overly optimistic, but I read the list of Restrictions (on hotels, spas, churches, parks, casinos, restaurants at 50% bars, gyms, etc.) as meaning, if your business isn't on the list, that you may re-open, albeit with masks, social distancing.

Re: The Grand Re-Opening of Jalisco
Per Informador (and again, this is a piz-poor google translate but you can get the gist of it).
Informador, What Businesses Can Re-open
The Government of Jalisco authorized the return of 80% of economic activities starting next Monday. However, measures such as operating at 50% must be applied, confirmed Alejandro Guzmán Larralde, coordinator of Growth and Economic Development.
Phase 0 of the Plan for Economic Reactivation states that "it is not a return to normality", so it will last two weeks and its timing will be subject to the evolution of the pandemic. If there are outbreaks or disobedience in the measures, the isolation would return.
In addition to most industries, the economic units to return are software and application development, marketing and advertising, accounting and tax consulting, crafts, sewing, carpentry, ironwork, aluminum, glass, computers, plumbing, electricity, gardening, beauty salons and car washes, among others.
On the other hand, the commercial lines of recreation or coexistence (such as bars) are still closed, as well as the patron saint festivities. Nor can seniors, with chronic and pregnant diseases, return to activity. Sanitary protocols such as antibacterial gel and face masks also continue.

Re: The Grand Re-Opening of Jalisco
Yeah I think its great as long as everyone wears a mask when they go out and practice some distancing. For those that are scared or susceptible they can stay home. No one is forcing people to do anything. Mexico has a fragile economy and no safety net handing out money like the US and Canada.

I guess the implication is that localities can have stricter limits than the State.
From Hector's site an 1 hour ago. Nothing yet at the Chapala Gobierno page.

The Corona virus is getting closer to our community. First Poncitlan and now Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos. One case has been reported by the health department. I know that we are waiting for May 17 to open some non essential businesses, but, please let us wait for the recommendations from our Mayor Moy Anaya. He and his Directors are working on a plan to protect us.. Moy thanks everyone for doing a good job to date. We have to stay vigilant to protect our selves from this evil disease.

Re: The Grand Re-Opening of Jalisco
Most small business owners (including bars) that I have spoken with said they are reopening next week no matter what. The muni will have to deliver new "orders to close" paperwork. The first orders actually expired April 30, 2020. I wonder if the Mayor and his Directors are getting paid during this fiasco?

I gathered that the parks and Malecons are to stay closed until further notice. I hope I am wrong. Anyone have the "final word" on this?

The Jalisco order says parks remain closed. Not sure on Malecons.
However a few weeks ago some friends told me that no one will hassle you on the Ajijic malecon BEFORE 9AM. I cannot confirm that, but if you're an early-bird, maybe give it a try??. It's possible the policia don't start patrols before 9???

Re: The Grand Re-Opening of Jalisco
If you can read Spanish, you will note that Hotels and Motels can re-open but the use of the common area is still restricted. So if you go to a Motel 24 hours you will not be able to indulge in the Jacuzzi

I'm an early bird, so maybe I'll try and will report back. If the yellow tape is still there, I may chicken out, though.

Re: The Grand Re-Opening of Jalisco
The yellow tape is still there but I bypassed it a couple of weeks ago to do some fishing and no one said a word.
