If you have "mitelcel", you can print off the bill with the code and pay at Oxxo. Don't try and pay it at 711 because their staff don't know how to do it for some strange reason.

You can also do the same for Telmex with "mitelmex".

TelCel paquetes? You can simply go into a store like Oxxo, or WalMart, or Soriana, and give them your cell phone number and make any amount of payment. For example, I choose the 200p plan, which gives me 30 days of use and enough data that I can listen to music and news apps all day long and not run out of Internet time.

I don't think very many expats have plans that require credit cards, do they?

I have a $299 peso per month PLAN that I organized with Ana at the Telcel store opposite Chopsticks. I get a bill from the Telcel website every month, print it off and pay it at Oxxo. Irish Girl on TOB said she was able to pay on Mitelcel with a Canadian Credit Card.
I'll look into that since, if this situation gets dire, I won't want to go into Oxxo and hand over cash and get change. YMMV.
Which brings up another question I have.
I have always kept Telmex, Telcel and CFE bills for the potential purpose of property sale. Is that REALLY necessary now when everything is computerized???

With Telcel you can recaharge and pay right on the phone. star--1-3-3-# and up will come the amount of money you have left on your account. An option to recarga will pop up and you can enter your CC # and pay.

I use the Mi Telcel smart phone app to pay for cellular service using a U.S. credit card. It was a little quirky using it the first time -- the application doesn't seem to like U.S. zip codes very much, but I kept keying that in several times and finally it was accepted.

I pay all my utilities on my Bancomer app. Scan the barcode with your smartphone and viola.... done.
