Jalisco closes GDL and PVR

Someone posted on Facebook that they heard this on the radio. Can anyone confirm with a link to news site. I can't find anything.

Today, planes are landing and taking off in PVR. No reports of closure reported in local newspaper.

Yes apparently the Federal government owns all the airports and have not granted the state permission to close them as was requested by the governor.

For those who looked at the arriving flights - did you happen to notice that none are from overseas, just domestic or the US. The closure was for flights from high risk countries.

If they are coming from NY City, it is VERY high risk. Approximately 60% of cases in the entire US is from NYC. Unbelievable. Government concerned about people fleeing from there and spreading it to other areas.

Our governor in FL has mandated that visitors from NY have to go through a 14 day quarantine if they come here.

Delta would not refund my airline tickets to GDL and I had insurance! United gave me a full credit on my flight to Sacramento that I can use for up to a year. Now, which one of these airlines will I use the next time I fly?

I sent an email to my local congressman and senators about the situation. I will post when I know what they say. There kind of busy right now trying to get legislation passed to bail us all out and keep the economic engine going.

If you are in the US just stay there for the time being. It will be waaaay worse down here in the next few weeks.

To keep it in prospective, in 2018-2019 according to the CDC, 34,200 people died in the U.S. Apparently 2018-2019 was a median year for flu. So some years more die or less depending on the severity. On another note, per MND, a gang of 30 busted into and looted what looks like a Soriana in Oaxaca.

CB. I get my info directly from the CDC. Figures as of this morning:

New York 26,358 infected
United States 54,453 infected. Do the math.

We cannot account for cases that have not been detected yet. This would be people who are infected with no symptoms but are out and about infecting others. These numbers are a drop in the bucket, IMO.

Amazing. The CDC just updated a minute ago (12:30 pm EDT)

New York - 32,966 cases
United States - 68,440 cases

New York down to 50 percent. Chicago & New Orleans are rising rapidly.

Here in FL, Miami-Dade is the epicenter with the most cases, followed by Tampa.

What does MND stand for ?

One small piece of good news.In the towns that have had confnement for 3 weeks n noerthrn taly the number of new cases s going down so confinement works..The death count keeps going up because people are sick but the new cases number is going down so that is the ñight at the end of the tunnel. Of course they cannot stop the confnement yet but ther es hope.
