I'm buying land in Mazamitla. Have questions.

Could be. I usually have clients do it shortly after the property goes under contract/long before the closing. Maybe the clients I've had who needed it to be done quickly have just gotten lucky. Who knows.

Last night, I was advised by my real estate agent that the Notario should be able to pick up the permiso from SRE today -- that's nine days after filing the application.  

I'm not complaining.  I'm just posting to advise others who don't live in the Guadalajara area that, because the documents must be processed in Mexico City, this may take longer than one wants to stay in Guadalajara waiting for the permiso.
