Shaw satellite TV

Does anyone get Discovery Velocity #628) on their Shaw TV?

I don't even show a channel 628 on my series 600PVR box. I do have the full platinum package too.

I get 628 in several places on my 630. On my edit channel list it is fainter than the others. When I click on it doesn't get full colour but I get a check to the right of it. I wonder if you need a different dish or LNB. It is between HGTV 627 and ...,..629

Nope, mine is all up to date according to Shaw.

I do see it on my edit channel list but I have mine set to "not show" unsubscribed channels so I guess it isn't part of the Platinum package.

I am subscribed to Discovery Velocity and it appears on Channel 628 fine on my setup.

Remember that there are two different channel lineups.

I got what was called Star Choice in 2000, and we had what is now called the classic channel lineup, where for example, CNN HD is on channel 95 and standard definition is on channel 500.

When Shaw Direct bought out Star Choice, they offered a new channel # lineup, where the channel #s for the same channels are different. For those of us who were used to the old channel lineup, we were given opportunity to keep the old lineup.  On the classic program schedule there is no channel #628 listed.

Discovery Velocity is Channel 628 on the "ADVANCED" channel lineup menu.

I'm already confused BUT I'm back in Canada now and NO channel 628 is showing on my guide, for what that is worth or means....

I think velocity has to be subscribed as an add on. It doesn't come with the platinum package. If you have your guide set to only show subscribed channels it won't show up. If you change it to show all channels you will see it.

I finally gave up Shaw after 9 years and got Hickton’s streaming setup. I was paying $750.00 US a year for Shaw compared to a one time charge of 1800 pesos. After a couple of hiccups I’m getting used to it and just love all the UK channels I now have.

I am a snowbird who used to live up north maybe 7 months per year, now 4 months per year and I really want to watch the local Seattle and Vancouver daily news. Something I can not do streaming. (Or so I believe)

So I have had Shaw (formerly Star Choice) down here since satellite Anik-F1 went active, February 21st, 2001
