Any British mechanics in Jalisco?
I know this is probably a ridiculous question but anyone know of any British auto repair shops or mechanics anywhere in Jalisco state?

Ron Young in Chapala is Canadian but they still recognize the Queen.
Hell of a good mechanic. Across from Soriana on Av. Madero.

Re: Any British mechanics in Jalisco?
Good to know and thanks! Thinking of bringing my 2003 Land Rover Discovery down. It is reasonably dependable but it is a Land Rover:/ One of my most favorite vehicles ever besides my the 1962 Jeep Willys p/u I used to have. Much better for Mexican streets than our big Ram diesel pickup. Foolishly drove that into old town Mazatlan and the streets were so narrow I could not even take a corner:/ Luckily the street I was on came to a wider street eventually but it shook me up a bit and I pride myself on being able to drive anything anywhere. Certainly humbled me:)

Did you realise that today is International Land Rover Day? Is your vehicle diesel, my mechanic is doing a good job servicing my wierd 1991 Japanese diesel, but it only has less than 75,000 miles on it (250,000 plus is the norm).

I did realize it was International Land Rover day! My daughter has one too and we just drove a great route over the mountain here to view the spring wildflowers here in celebration:) Mine is not a diesel unfortunately but my Dodge Ram is which we will also have lakeside so it is good to know there is a mechanic that could deal with that!

I have a full set of British Whitworth sockets and spanners for use on the original Land Rovers... I suspect your new Land Rover (2003) is all metric.

Yes, metric for the most part. Were you wanting to sell them?

No, I would never sell them. They are part of a set my father gave me nearly 40 years ago...

Jaguar and Land Rover dealer
Jaguar y LandRover dealer in Guadalajara as there are plenty of both brands around here. The service department is great and they will come get the vehicle and return it which is a very nice plus. Of course you pay for it.

Ahh, British automotive engineering.
When I was in my twenties many of my friends and I favored British sports cars - MGs, Triumphs, bug-eyed Sprites.
I had a 1967 Austin Healy 3000 mark III.
Collectively we spent more time repairing them than driving.

Re: Any British mechanics in Jalisco?
Thanks so much Solajijic! I searched with Google and did not find this so I really appreciate it:-)
There are a couple of sayings about Land Rovers specifically SunFan.
#1 - If your Land Rover isn't leaking oil it is probably out of oil.
#2 - Land Rover.....making mechanics out of owners for 70 years:-) I know exactly what you mean. Have had a couple MG's and a Triumph Spitfire once upon a long time ago.....definitely spent more time with them in the shop or not working than working!
A couple fun facts about Land Rovers.....nearly 75% if them are still owned and at least some times working! Also more indigenous peoples first sight of a vehicle has been a Land Rover than any other vehicle:- )
Again thanks so much for the info Solajijic....really appreciate it!
