Renewing a British Passport.

Can any Brits here give me some pointers on renewing my passport from Mexico.
I did send an enquiry to the Embassy address in Mexico City, but no response.
Either they've moved, on vacation, or having a tea-break.
Appreciate your suggestions.

they dont seem to do it anymore. everything done on line and you have to send your old one and documents to uk. takes about six weeks, but there is a big delay at the moment.look at www uk.gob passport renewal outside uk for all info or google it.

The Brit club meets at Manix restaurant on the first Saturday of every month. It's a great resource for finding out the answers to Brit-specific problems.

the brit consulate even closed down a few years ago in guadalajara

Thanks for the responses. I'll try to make it to the next meeting of the Brit Society at Mannix.
I've also sent a message to the consulate in Canada, but still no response.
Who knew it would be a problem renewing a Brit passport. Renewing my Canadian passport
from here was fairly easy, just a trip to Guadalajara.

actually you don't even need to go to guadalajara anymore for your canadian passport. you can fill in the forms on line,print them and courier them to the embassy in mexico city with a return courier envelope. renewal now is 5 OR 10 years.

at what time do the brit club meet ?

As hickton said you can only renew via the UK.
We did ours via the embassy in Washington, D.C. By courier from here, last summer, but they stopped doing them there in sept last year.
