Bird Lovers? Empty Bird Lovers?

Post by CHILLIN Sun Apr 28, 2019 1:01 pm

This website from Cornell University shows live animations of bird migrations, which are starting to peak in the U.S.A. It works in conjunction with an app called eBird. Birdwatchers report sighting from all over North America and the data is entered into the Cornell database. The website is beautiful, but a little clunky. It will only get better with time and participation. This is an important study/tool for anyone hoping to help declining bird populations.

Really very interesting and thanks for sharing Chillin:-) Unfortunate that they can't include Mexico in their maps because of course many birds winter here and it would be a more complete picture of this situation but certainly a great resource for this information!
