What’s the reason for posting his real name?
Yes, very petty.

Now, what I REALLY want to know is how you put an icon your desktop. Or, did you really pay someone to drag it and drop it for you.

How did I put icons on my desktop? I went to a local library and got several Windows 10 how to books. I tried many things so I am not sure which actually worked. "if it ever occurred"-ignorant and petty.

Yes, shortly afterwards but he would not listen. He was not familiar with the problems. I don't think he understands the complexity of genealogy programs.

Well it sounds like a very small minority have not been satisfied however the majority are satisfied and recommend his services. Sounds about right for any business. I have a few people who don't like this forum. Who cares. I certainly don't.

ComputerGuy wrote:Ah. Because I think it only fair to out morons. You probably disagree, or you wouldn't have asked. My prerogative, as a definite swipe against a very distasteful person. You'll notice I also pointed out the name he uses on TOB. Just in case anyone missed it.

This guy has attacked me personally, online in public, for years. Surely releasing his name is not only my right against my accuser, but a good thing for those who might have to deal with him.

I already disseminate my own name. Mike Riley. Been doing it since I started on these Boards. What I do, what I say, is up front. No hiding.

I think anyone that knows me would say I am not distasteful. I have a scientific background and just like to deal with the facts not pettiness and ignorance.

No, he did not. He was perfectly okay with what I was able to do for him. It's a whole long story that I can PM you sometime, but not going into it here. I have put him on FOE, but I expect to see his name appear in rebuttal anyway.

Of course I aired my dissatisfaction privately but he would not listen or didn't understand.
I was not okay at all with what you did-years of research lost but eventually I and others found most of it.

The fact that you went to a Library, instead of finding the information on the internet, tells me all I need to know about your computer capabilities. PEBKAC
Also the fact that you didn't have files THAT important backed up. Your computer could die at any time and you wouldn't have backup for anything of importance. I would suggest you follow Flamingo's advice.

Yes, that much is clear. Have you given any thought to becoming a data point for your software?
