Good news!

The governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, as next project plans the installation of a bus line for rapid transit (BTR) to connect the Guadalajara Airport with the municipalities of El Salto and Chapala.

According to Alfaro Ramírez, in the first instance, the connection of both municipalities to the airport and later to each other (El Salto-Chapala) is planned and it will be in the coming days that this "historical investment" will be announced in conjunction with the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), group in charge of the administration of the Guadalajara airport.

Always wonder about that one to. When I was still commuting my best choice at the time was GDL to Cancun then Westjet to Toronto and of course I also wanted to avoid the US.

I suspect the answer lies in the way airlines and airports compete and bid for routes. Or pay off to be awarded lucrative routes. Or, perhaps, strike deals to secure "exclusive" routes. Like everything else it's money and politics.
