Telemarketer calls Empty Telemarketer calls

Hate those annoying telemarketer calls? You can block your number by putting yourself on the do not call list for financial institutions every 2 years here: https://webapps.condusef.gob.mx/reus/app/registro.jsp and for regular marketing calls here: https://repep.profeco.gob.mx/

Telemarketer calls Empty Re: Telemarketer calls

Post by MexicoPete Fri Dec 14, 2018 5:42 pm

I have had the same number for more than twenty years and I guess I am just very very lucky  because it is not often that I get telemarketer calls.

Changing the subject. In the old days one paid long distance to call Joco from Ajijic and instead of have a 7 digit home number, we only had 5 numbers. in Ajijic instead of 766-1234 it was 6-1234 in Ajijic and 5-1234 in Chapala. Gosh now for only about $387 pesos or so per month, I can call all over Mexico and some 50 other countries for free.

Back to the topic, Thank you very much Intercasa, for all of the great information you provide us. Your help and services provided by your office in Chapala are greatly appreciated.

I can only hope that registering your number for the 'Do Not Call' list works better in Mexico than it did in Canada. Years ago, Canadians were told they could be put on a 'Do Not Call' list. Calls were still coming through from telemarketers, in fact, usually more often then before. It turns out, the Canadian government SOLD the list to these companies! People were furious, including me! I even had calls from Windows computer service guys. I used to get six or seven of these calls every day for several months, even though I kept telling them that I didn't even have a Windows PC (I had a Mac). I couldn't block them because it showed as an unknown number. I called Bell Telephone, and they said there was nothing they could do! Telemarketer calls 633732

I have been receiving these calls; up to 10 per day. I've blocked the numbers, but they seem to have an infinite number of numbers to use. They start as early as 7 am and continue up to 9 pm. Next step is to try Spencer's idea. Hope it works.

Are you talking about cellphones or landlines? I'm not getting robot calls on either.

Consider yourself lucky.
Land lines. My dumbphone that lives in the car accumulates them.

Telemarketer calls Empty Re: Telemarketer calls

I have had the same land line telephone #here in Ajijic for 21 years and the Telcel phone number for I guess about 8 years.

And I am very confused I get almost no telemarketer calls. What am I doing right? :)

Now I do get  maybe 10 cellphone spam messages a week.  But every once in a while I respond to the message from the same company with the BAJA.... message, which normally stops messages from that source.
