Re: Dr. Claudia
My friends in Joco have both had cataract surgery with Dra. Claudia. Everything perfect. I would go to her if I needed to have it done too.

Re: Dr. Claudia
Dr. Claudia works both here and Gaud. I had cataract surgery before I moved here. I had Dr. Claudia remove the film from the surgery, she did it in Gaud. I wish I would of waited and had her do the surgery.
Re: Dr. Claudia
Probably because the film in his previous surgery wouldn't have occurred if she had done the surgery. She is not only excellent at the surgery, she is usually successful in fixing the screw ups by other surgeons.
I have friends who come down every winter from Canada. He had cataract surgery done by another Doctor here. He has a problem with "film", "cloudiness" (whatever you want to call it) and had me make an appointment with Dra. Claudia a month ago for December. I hope she can help... and I hope that she was able to help you Nicksco.
I went to Dra. Claudia after my BP spiked in April because I thought it had damaged my eyes. I didn't tell her anything about my eye history but she knew within five minutes of examining my eyes. Anyway, to make a long story short, no other Opthamologist has been that quick without an explanation and I've been seeing them annually since I was three. It was my way of testing her. The spiked BP didn't damage my eyes... and I do have a small cataract developing in my good eye but she said there is no way she will touch it until absolutely necessary... because she classified me as a "one eyed patient". I laughed out loud. "One eyed, one horned, flying purple people eater" came to mind. I like her and I trust her.

Re: Dr. Claudia
Dr. Claudia said that it is common. It had been a couple years since I had the surgery. She used a laser to remover the film. While I was there she had a retina specialist check my eyes but they were OK. After she removed the film every thing was clear again. I would not go anywhere else for eye care!
Re: Dr. Claudia
My husband had cataract surgery in both eyes with Dr. Claudia. He was very nervous about the surgery, but he was very pleased with the results and her treatment. I will be using her when I need cataract surgery (thankfully, still a few years off).

Re: Dr. Claudia
Somebody forgot to mention about the price tag per eye for cataract surgery here. Please let me know. I'd like to compare with the cost to me in USA.
Thanks

That's about what I paid over three years ago. I used Dr. Vargas and Hospital de Hierro. Very satisfied.
I'm curious as to what the cost would be in the States. Anyone know?

With my medicare, and for the basic lenses (mono vision), I was quoted $800 USD for both eyes in Washington state.
Of course Medicare deducts $134 US every month from my SS check.
Thank you all.

Re: Dr. Claudia
Is that your Medicare co-pay? How much will Medicare be paying? Thanks, LL.

Re: Dr. Claudia
Dr. Naranjo in GDL did both eyes same day (laser), no lenses, for 30K pesos one year ago. Very successful, vision 20/20 don't need glasses, totally satisfied.
Luzma, the optomotrist at LCS, recommends him as the best.

Hi Trail,
As you know, whoever has Medicare can also participate in a Medicare Advantage plan. In my case it is Humana HMO.
When I visited the eye specialist within my Humana network doctors, I was quoted that much (my portion). Since my cataract is not at advanced stage yet, I can have some time to make decision. I would like to wait till there are no ways around. I did not ask about Humana portion. Sorry.
Cheers to all

Hey, LL. Good for you, you're well set up there for your medical stuff. Good you can wait on it too. Lucky.
But we're comparing apples to oranges without knowing the full charge for the cataract surgery.

Hi Trail,
Thanks for understanding!
Not trying to compare here and there. Just only care for my pocket book.
