The weather...
Is there a decent weather forecast web site that is actually correct? I have used Wunderground for the last four years and it has been relatively accurate. If it said rain, it would happen within an hour of the stated arrival. This year, they haven't gotten anything correct.
Huge storm coming in from the east right now and starting to rain ... and not a peep about it on the site.
edited to add: 7:30 pm and it's DUMPING. But there's 0% chance of precipitation according to Wunderground.

Re: The weather...
That one surprised me because it looked sunny out then BAM! Per my Irish mother when it rains when the sun is out it will rain tomorrow.

We sure need the rain though, it's been a pathetic rainy season. 0.6 inches in a half an hour. Yikes. I'm kinda longing for two solid days of gentle rain. I know, bite my tongue.

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind that as long as no lightning.

Rained good in SA. Thunder and lightning too. Didn't last long enough though.

Re: The weather...
We had a little hail in downtown Chapala perforating my elephant ears and banana trees, but alas, it didn't last very long.

We're on Degollado and it rained and blew hard for about 15 min .....about an inch of water in the fountain which had been dry. A tiny bit of hail.

The government maintains a very extensive weather site. It's in Spanish, but weather terminology is very similar to English. Here's the link.

This is what I have on my toolbar:
https://www.accuweather.com/en/mx/guadalajara/243735/weather-forecast/243735
For Guad, it has NOW WEEKEND EXTENDED MONTH
The Guadalajara Satellite allows you to zoom into Lake Chapala & everywhere in Mexico. That's all I know.

Thanks Smartalex…. I already have that link.
Annette, thank you! That's an improvement.
Anybody got a site that shows RADAR?

Thank you MFT... I have that one too. Think I'll spend a little more time with it though now that you've pointed me in the right direction. Vamos a ver.

Re: The weather...
Ventusky WINS! If I zero in on Lake Chapala but can still see the surrounding towns as far away as San Miguel and Morelia, it gives the perfect opportunity to see the radar action from all sides. Click on precipitation and click to 1 hr increments. At the bottom of the screen, you can move forward then by 1 hr increments to see when and if the rain will start.
I spent a bit of time with this, this weekend and watched the storm arriving from the direction of Leon on Saturday. BadaBING! Other times that I thought weather was approaching, it broke up and bypassed the lake on Sunday. All I can say is that it's raining all around us but not on us for the most part. And that may confirm why the lake level is rising so dramatically in a season in which we have received mediocre rainfall.
YMMV of course but the Ventusky site is fascinating nonetheless.

I still get my weather forecasts the same as I did 30 or 40 years ago.
I get up in the morning and look out the window.

Re: The weather...
Ventusky let me down. I checked last night, in 1 hour increments, from 11 pm to 8 am and NO storm nor rain showed up on the lake in that time frame.
Last night was the loudest thunder and rain that I've heard this season. 1.6 inches of rain in the rain gauge.
And no internet even though I've reset the modem twice. Thank God for my neighbor.
Getting up to close the window at 4:30 a.m., after there's already a large and spreading puddle on the floor, totally defeats the purpose of the rain forecast.
Back to the drawing board.

Re: The weather...
Sounded like bombs going off. Internet is fine this morning but surprisingly the electricity didn’t even flicker. I much prefer a slow steady rain without the fireworks.

Re: The weather...
I have a deep distrust of All the forecasts, so at night I close the casa windows where rain can come in. I use Slainte's method of weather prediction: I go outside in the morning and look at the sky. That, too, is misleading around here.

Re: The weather...
I have 4 weather apps on my phone and they rarely agree on the current or future.
I agree that what you can see is the most reliable. :)
I couldn't keep my pup off the bed because of the sound and light flashing.
Fun Night! lol

I had 3 pooches VERY close last night with all those sound effects. Luckily the 4th can’t make it onto the bed.
