There have been a few humourous posts about getting things done in Mexico. Nothing describes this better than the following:

I'll never forget the time I was sitting in the waiting room of one of our busiest local doctor's office and the woman sitting next to me kept looking at her watch. She finally turned to me and asked if it "normally" takes this long to be seen and when I said "yes", she said she had three other appts. to take care of that day. I didn't have the heart to tell her. She finally took one more look at her watch and left.

Some days I've had the best fun all because Diagram 1 turned into Diagram 2. Viva México!

Hey, I got THREE things done today.
1) paid my Telmex bill at their office 'cuz my bill never showed up
2) paid my Telcel bill at Laguna mall 'cuz my bill didn't arrive via e-mail
3) paid for the installation of my new sink and taps.

Tomorrow, I renew my driver's license in Guadalajara... and CFE is also going to shut off the power here from 10 to 5. What could possibly go wrong...……...

Getting things done in Mexico and advanced aging is probably one of the most incongruous situations one can imagine. lol!

I was never one to walk away from a challenge. I guess all that practice is working in my favour now. I'm just too stubborn to give in.

People always said I was too Type A to be able to stand living and working in the Caribbean. I lasted 28 years and moved here. Shocked
I consider it character building, I guess.

I got something done today that would have been absolutely impossible in the United States or any other society as rigid.

Sometimes those loopty-loops and curly-cues of living in Mexico can work to your advantage. I was pretty Type A when I moved here, much less now. Thanks, Mexico!

At least when you do get something done on the first try or better yet, a couple of things in one morning it’s like finishing an Iron Man Triathlon. But that’s very rare.

Too funny gringal. Yeah, the bar has been lowered considerably when one can accomplish so little in one day eh?

I renewed my Licence last year... ho boy, was that a treat...
Found the line... about 30 people... outdoors going down a staircase into the basement ( reminded me of Schlinder's List )
Guy took my licence, passport, visa, utility bill.... and the 5 copies of each... and studiously examined each.. like one might be a forgery
next... off to another line of about 80 people... there I pay my fee...
back to the basement line... same guy examines my receipt....
told to go sit... in the waiting room.... an hour later... ushered into another room where I sit at a kiosk and get my " not so smiling mug " picture taken... off to another small room... called over and given a steaming hot Drivers Licence fresh outta the laminator...
only took 4 hours

I went with Luzma Grande and it was the easiest renewal in YEARS. We left her office at 9:30 (3 doors west of Gossips) and went to the Tlaquepaque renewal location. I was home at noon. Absolute piece of cake! Made the young lady taking the photos laugh when I asked for a "younger" photo please.
And the electricity came back on at 5:15.
Two days in a row that everything went according to plan... WTF?

Two consecutive days where multiple events went as planned and results exceeded expectations? Wow, Ferret. I don’t know what to say. Except, of course, don’t get used to it.

Hey, I'm on a good luck roll after an exceedingly long bad luck roll. I'm just gonna enjoy it... and may the other shoe drop where it may and when it wants.
