Is it possible to get a check in US dollars issued somewhere Lakeside?

Isn't there a bank in Centro Laguna that issues dollar checks to pay the US Consulate? Will they issue checks to other businesses?

CI Banco at Centro Laguna does it (across from Wings Army). That's where I got my USD check made out when I renewed my passport. Can't imagine why they wouldn't issue a different dollar denominated check "Pay to the order of" whomever.

You have to get a check at Banamex in Chapala for your passport at the exchange rate at that time. No more U.S. checks accepted.

I had to become "permanente" then had to sign some paper work, but I can cash my US checks and deposit into my account here. If a larger sum, better to wire it because of the better exchange rate which will more than offset the wire fee.
