Thanks, I see only a couple of roaming cars when I look at the app and I got an email from them saying they were having problems.

I just got a card from a uber driver Jose Marquez 33 3115 9422 It was on my car port. It is a very nice card maybe some of them are doing OK!

Only Uber driver is one you get from the App. Lots of guys are putting out cards that say they're Uber but they aren't.

Right! And if you have to pay cash, it ain't UBER.

We (family) have only used them (frequently) to and from Chapala and the airport over the last year. Don't know about local service.  Have always used the app, never a direct phone call. Always paid by a credit card.

You can use the app and pay cash.

True but be careful.  On my last shopping trip to Guad my friend set it to pay cash which she did and then was charged on her card as well.

No, I didn't have to give them anything. I just double checked and there is no CC info in my app. The only payment method available to me is "Cash". There is an option for me to add a CC or Paypal account.

Perhaps the sign up process has changed?

I've gotten a card, but only from an Uber driver I used through the app. They want to cut out the middleman. It means you can call them and book.

Good question. Are UBER drivers properly insured? Down here I wouldn't even assume that regular taxi's are properly insured...…...

I think Uber checks that when they are hired but I could be wrong. Was at Black Coffee this morning to get an Uber to Guad for a medical test. None to be had from around 10:15 to 10:45. Called a taxi. No shortage of Ubers in Guad however.

ICYMI on the news last night. . .an UBER driver was killed in his car after a mechanical breakdown on the Guad/Chapala highway somewhere around the El Saltos exit. He called his wife, she found his body. Poor woman.
