Where to buy tropical fish

I would like to find sword tail fish for my pond......anyone know where I might find some?

There's a fish guy in Joco. Used to have an aquarium store on the street up from the church. Right side, 3/4 way up. Also one in the arcade. Ask around.

The Pet Place in Riberas, lakeside, next to Tepehua Treasures has all kinds of fish and supplies.

And there is a pet store on Zaragoza in Chapala, a few doors north of Flavio Romero

There is a new pet store next to ATT and across the street from Guadalajara Farmacia in Chapala...

Note: Farmacia Guadalajara has two locations in Chapala.

It is called Pet Avenue. It is on the mountain side and heading in from Ajijic it is across the street from Guadalajara Farmacia just past Monte Carlo. It is a lot like a PetSmart. It is huge and has all kinds of food, toys, etc. I saw some small fish at the front desk but not sure they have what you are looking for.

There is a pet store in the same shopping center as Soriana.

There is also an aquarium shop/pet store in Plaza Torres, on the right, just before the IMSS hospital as you enter Guadalajara.

I visited most of the locations mentioned....except for RV Gringo's. All local stores, here at lakeside seemed to be limited to Goldfish. beta's, guppies. The manager at Petco in Guad put me in touch with a tropical fish private individual that had swordtails...more than she could say grace over....as they are prolific live bearers and she gave me several pairs.

I, by the way, have lots of guppies in my pond and would share with someone that might want to start a colony.

The one on Zaragoza directly across from the Carmen Chapel is the best pet store in the area for buying "pets". They also have the largest selection of tropical fish, and they almost always carry sword tails. I found it odd when I first moved here to find out that most pet stores here sell almost everything related to pets except the pets themselves...

I suppose having live animals in the store requires a lot of work and expenditures.

Not selling pets, such as puppies and kittens, is much preferred. The animals come from Puppy and Kitten mills and conditions are horrific. The animals are poorly bred, often sickly, and over priced. PLEASE NEVER buy animals at a pet store.

But what about reptiles, birds and rodents??
