Uuuuh-Huh........gotcha!
Neck bites are permitted, because we fishes, don't have necks....kind of head to shoulders.

CanuckBob wrote:I was talking with Shea, the chef at the Brewhouse, about halibut fish and chips. He said he can get halibut in Guadalajara but it is not cheap. He said if there was enough interest he could do a halibut fish and chips special on a given day. He suspects it will need to be priced around $120 to $150 pesos per serving (he is going to calculate an exact price and let me know). Being that good halibut fish and chips runs around $22 dollars in Vancouver it sounds like a reasonable price. Does this interest anyone? We could do a forum swarm on a day that works for most.
Halibut is worth the extra few bucks...
Gawd i miss Maganas... used to get Dorado.
Last time at Perry's... Fish n Chips ended up being 2 tiny little pieces ( I mean tiny ) and 6 or 8 french fries all for $120 pesos... That was the Last Time.

Going to do a maple cajun glaze.......
Costco... Halibut and Dorado both available in frozen section.
Nice filets individually wrapped... 7 or 8 in a box...
Not cheap :)
But I can't stand that Tilapia crap ....

Fish and chips is all about good quality fish and good chips. Fresh is best. Fresh high quality fish is $$$. It's a splurge. I've eaten fresh and frozen halibut on the same plate here in BC. The difference is night and day. And fresh halibut is around $C20/lb.

Re: Halibut fish and chips
Count us two (Sue and Ramon) in on halibut fish and chips if we are not too late. We are from the east coast of Canada where cod and haddock are the standards. But halibut is the best for fish and chips!

Gawd i miss Maganas... used to get Dorado.
You can get excellent Dorado (Mahi Mahi) at El Fogon de Charlotte, (next to El Tio Sams) it is usually the catch of the day. As you like it, battered, breaded or grilled

You don't need a name tag. Everyone already recognizes you from the "MOM" in a heart tattoo on your bicep.

Re: Halibut fish and chips
Ok, we’ll have to find out if halibut is still available. I’ll go out there later in the week and check with Shea.
