where to buy antenna for terr tv

If you are at Lake Chapala, TV reception by antenna is almost nil. The mountains block most signals from Guadalajara. At best, you may receive three stations, but will be lucky to find one of them good enough to watch.

The same was true of the shortwave radio we brought with us in 2004. Pretty useless.

We had a very active ham radio club lakeside during the 1990's Why? Because Telmex used to charge long distance to call from say Ajijic to San Juan Cosala and/or Joco. I remember buying the largest multi element yagi antenna I could buy and placed it on an antenna rotator.

In those days there were maybe three TV channels you could kind of sort of receive.

You always see advertised on line these small digital antennas that they say you just hank up and you can pick up all kinds of digital TV channels most everywhere.

That might make sense if you were in or near a large US or Canadian population center. But as RV said, not down here along the shores of Lake Chapala.

That's right. When I got here it was a long distance call to Jocotepec. Forgot about that. And Rod's dialup was the only game in town and it rocked. I miss going over and hanging out at Lagunanet with Rod and Elba.
