Re: Paan Thai Ajijic restaurant
Is this the new Rikki's Thai restaurant that closed on Marcos Castellanos?
Is the Thai restaurant still open on Zaragosa, west of Aquiles Serdan, that originally was just north of the LCS. (not Antono's Thai restaurant on Hidalgo)

There are several questions being asked about three different places. Just to clear up any confusion:
The Thai restaurant on Zaragoza is Simply Thai. It is NOT west of Aquiles Serdan. It is East of Aquiles Serdan between Juarez and A.S. and this restaurant is the one that used to be near LCS.
Ricki's on Marcos Castellanos is closed now.
Paan Thai is opening on Colon where Richi 88 used to be located. This is between Zaragoza and Hidalgo.

I haven't tried the brand new one yet but until I do, I prefer the one on Hildago.

Tepetate Pien Thai on Hidalgo is my favorite by a country mile over the one on Zaragosa that used be just north of LCS.
Rikki's was very good also, but it's gone.

I drove past the brand new one on Colon yesterday evening and the lights were on with some people at the tables.

The new one on Colon is the chef from the one on Hidalgo, the Pad Thai was boring and no peanuts, green curry was too spicyhot to eat, but I sweated thru it and later that night had severe intestinal pain, thank god I was near bathroom

Re: Paan Thai Ajijic restaurant
We ate at Paan Thai Monday for lunch. The pad thai with shrimp was not very good and the beef curry was very bland. We had eaten there before (for dinner) three/four times and been very pleased. Don't know if this was a "one of".

With an entire AISLE @ Superlake, dedicated to asian cooking, the best brands, a multitude of rice & bean thread noodle choices.. I can't imagine wanting to be a guinea pig. Thx to pioneers who do. Made 10 gorgeous, non-fried, low cal, veggie (Bok Choi!) spring rolls yesterday, enough for 2 people for 3 days! Best rice paper, mung bean thread a breeze. So yea, an hour prep & an hour 'set', but srsly.. Shrimp @Walmart is pretty lame though.
