Telcel international messaging

I need to receive a text message on my telcel android smartphone from a country in Europe in order to verify an account. I have completed the process several times, checked all the data, and don't receive the sms. I'm on a 2 year contract with them and receive text messages in Mexico but don't seem to be able to get one from Europe. Anyone have any insights?

I think it would be better to use Whatsapp than Telcel.

Unfortunately, I don't have the choice. The company I'm dealing with does.
