Vacation Budget
Hello all!
We will be visiting Ajijic for 2 weeks in February. We already have paid for a place to stay. My question is how much money would we need for a 2 week stay.
We will not rent a car, and will be using walking/bus/taxi to explore the area and neighborhoods to get an idea where to live in 2019. Eat out most meals, but not "fancy".
I know this is a very broad question, but any advice is appreciated.

Re: Vacation Budget
If you have an ATM card then I would just bring that and a spare and get your money as you need it from one of the many ATM's here.
I have assumed from your post that you were planning on bringing down the money you need for the entire two weeks and that is not a good idea.
If I have misunderstood your request then I apologize.

Re: Vacation Budget
I would budget about $1000 pesos ($50 USD) per day for meals and drinks. After that it really depends on what you do. As ferret said just use your ATM card to get the money when you are here. Be sure to advise your bank you will be travelling in Mexico.

Ferret/Canuck, Thanks for the ATM advice. I will check with my bank about fees and tell them I will be in Mexico.
I am trying to put together a budget before we arrive to get an idea of the cost. Bus/Taxi seem inexpensive. Perhaps $2000 pesos for the 2 weeks?

If you figure out how to do that....you should write a book....... "How To Lose Weight In Mexico"
....or "How To Gain Weight By Only Eating Tortillas"

That is NOT going to do it.
The best current exchange is 19 pesos to 1 American dollar. So slightly over 100 dollars for a full two weeks isn't even close.

Breakfast for one person is between 75 and 100 pesos at Yves Restaurant.

Re: Vacation Budget
I think that is very doable. But please do not arrive toting around 14,000 pesos on your person.
LOL! I knew either a zero or some wording was missing.

Re: Vacation Budget
$2000 peso's is probably about right for local buses or taxi's for 2 weeks. You can always use UBER as well. Less expensive than taxi's and more convenient than buses.
