Saw somewhere that Denmark was considering crosswalk signs in the pavement so phone watchers could see them. Might have been "fake news".

there is no stopping progress.. Here in Chiapas we have the lights for blind people that beep so people who cannot see, can hear when it is safe to cross.. I would guess that should work for the people texting as well..no point spending extra money -that is a whole lot more useful and cheaper that lights embedded in the sidewalk..

Not sure this would work, since the zombie is focused on a visual input and the audio feed is blocked out.. . Would make an interesting physiological study.

Same thing in Seattle at traffic lights., especially near a hospital. One sound lets the person know the light is red, and another sound means it's green and the tone speeds up as the light is about to change from green to red.

yes they maybe too involved with the phone t hear anything.. well now that is scary..

Now you got me curious, I am going to check out the people walking around texting and see if they hear the light..

When in Seattle I am one block from a red light in front of Swedish Hospital. And I walk by this traffic light and several others most every day walking to the bank, Starbucks, my local drug store etc. Because the sounds were meant for those with poor vision, I have only paid attention to those who are almost blind. I must admit I never paid attention to the occasional texter, I would have though, had I seen him walk through a red light, something I have never seen.
