Is AeroMexico still charging for a checked luggage? A few weeks back the Reporter said this and other airlines were being fined a large amount for charging for checked luggage.

Has anyone checked a luggage with AM and did they charge you?

I flew Aeromexico from CDMX to Vancouver in May and wasn't charged any extra for my 1 piece of checked luggage.

I think if you purchased your ticket before a date in Feb. there was no fee, and then after a certain date in Feb. we got an AM email that checked luggage would be charged for, then the article came out in the Reporter about several airlines being fined by Mexico, so maybe that stopped the charge. When did you purchase your ticket? Was it after Feb.?

I think checking the Aeromexico website would tell you.

I purchased the ticket the day of the flight. I didn't want the 8 hour layover that my AC flight was so I cancelled it in CDMX and hopped on the Aeromexico flight that left in 2 hours.

Now here is the caveat.....I fly on crew passes because my daughter works for AC but I would normally have to pay extra for any add on fees if they are applicable. AC has a partnership with Aeromexico allowing me to fly on passes with them too.
