Canadian beer?
Does anyone know a place at the lakeside to buy Canadian beer? Not in a bar but a store.
Re: Canadian beer?
Maybe at the CBob residence?
Nah, that would be bootlegging.

LOL! I already checked there! Nada............
Re: Canadian beer?
I don't know of anywhere locally that sells Canadian beer. Perhaps at a specialty shop in Guadalajara? There is a little beer place down by the pier in Ajijic, beside Maria Isabel, that sells quite a few beers from around the world. They don't have any Canadian beer but they may either get some for you or tell you where to get it.

Why is that? You'd think it would be available all over the place.

Re: Canadian beer?
Well maybe all the other beers I see that look like imports (Stella, Heineken, Michelob, etc.) are actually being brewed here in Mexico. I know Tecate distributes Heineken so maybe they brew it here too.

Perhaps the only thing I was not happy with in Canada (43 years)(other than the winters) were the beers.
Absolutely no comparison to the UK and Europe.
Due to a large Austrian brewing influence many Mexican beers are significantly superior to those available in Canada and the USA.
Even more so we now have a number of craft beers here in Mexico that are superb.

Re: Canadian beer?
As a Canadian beer drinker I concur with Dave P. Of the mainstream large scale beers, Mexican beers are similar to superior to Canadian beers, and FAR superior to American beers. The ultimate (to my tastes) are some of the Czech beers (full bodied just like their women) and the Japanese Kirin is also pretty darn good.

Re: Canadian beer?
If you can't locate a Canadian beer, how about an ale.
Superlake stocks CANADA dry ginger ALE.
Seriously, zen is 200% correct.

Unless you prefer Murphys which is sweeter than Guiness. Minerva in Guad. makes a nice Imperial Stout but it taste more like a Porter to me. IPA and Pale Ale from Minerva are worth trying also. The pale ale is award winning and the new 8% IPA in large bottles (Fresko near Costco on Mateos) is top notch. The IPA is a great hot weather beer as is the Pale Ale.

No, but Baltimore is in County Cork (south coast), with a 10 meter inflatable Corona beer bottle floating on the water front.
A testimony to good Irish-Mexican relations.
:....and a beautiful first sight for any Mexican illegal who is willing to swim that far.
I cheated because of old age and saw it carrying a Mexican Passport

I know I am the only Gringo I know who prefers Murphys but I do and always have. Its widely available in Oregon in big cans and was always a treat. I admit to a Guinness once in a while. Its drinkable :-) :-).

WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE THINKING? Mexico has excellent beer. Personally, I was drinking Negro Modelo BEFORE I moved to Mexico. I still drink that, and now I also drink Bohemia. Shop around guys, there are great beers here. But not light beers--"Light Beer" is some sort of oxymoron IMO.

Mexican beers are fine for what they are. NModelo is a great beer. Bohemia is a great beer. I agree! But I like Porters, Stouts, Ale, and IPAs. Many of us are from Microbrew towns up north. My town of 70K people and students had at least 40 different taps of Microbrews available on any day. I love sitting on a hot beach in Mexico with an ice cold Pacifico in my hand but here in the cool of lakeside I would prefer a nice ale/porter/IPA or such.
