Threading galvanized pipe
We have three galvanized vent pipes on our roof. One 1" and two 3/4". We need to have them threaded so screw caps can be put on otherwise the pressure system causes geysers. Does anyone have dies we could borrow OR know of someone who has dies of this size that can do the job.

If no replies here, check with Casa de Plomero on the Carretera in W. Ajijjic.

If I understand you correctly, you want to terminate the pipes. If so, Home Depot has clamp couplers that require no threads and you would clamp it between the roof pipe and a short piece of the same size pipe with a cap.

Those vent pipes stand high and in the intense sunshine, that rubber might not last. A threaded cap which any plumber should be able to acomplish, would be the most secure solution.

We currently have clamp couplers but being in the intense sun they are showing wear, so we are looking for a more permanent solution.

I do not understand what you are trying to do, but if these are vent pipes for the sanitary sewage system of the home then you will be creating problems. If you cap those vent pipes off, then all of the p-traps in the home will siphon out and the home will be filled with sewer gas.

Re: Threading galvanized pipe
WS is installing a water pressure system (currently it is a gravity feed system using a rooftop Tinaco for storage) for which the previously required vent pipes are unnecessary, to say the least. The sewage/drainage circuit is a separate system altogether.
