Vehicle Nationalization Changes Effective July 1, 2011

If you want to nationalize a foreign plated car the rules are changing July 1, 2011. You would need to get your paperwork started before June 29 to get in under the current (old) rules and avoid delays and extra costs and paperwork requirements.

Le informamos que únicamente se realizaran trámites hasta el día 29 de junio del presente, "mediante amparo".

A partir del 1º de julio habrán nuevas disposiciones

Any idea what the new rules will be?

No idea, just got the email advising me. I am not an expert on the process and have partnered with someone at the border to do the nationalization and be able to do it for foreigners and avoid bringing the car to the border. I'll try and get more info.
