Where to get car seat belt buckle replaced?

Our seat belt buckle on the passenger side will no longer lock the pull across seat belt strap in place. The metal end of the pull across strap just slides in and out of the buckle and won't lock.

Where to get the buckle part replaced or if necessary the pull across strap and the buckle?

Locally, maybe Autozone, otherwise the dealer in Guadalajara.

If you can't do it yourself any one of the auto repair places here would probably order the part for you and replace it.

Went through that with my mechanic Felipe in Riberas. We ended up blowing the locking mechanism with pressurized air and that cleaned it out. Has locked ever since.

On the drivers side the buckle you can depress the release mechanism and you can see the metal bar that locks the strap belt into the buckle, but on the passenger side, when you depress the release buckle, the metal part that locks the belt in place disappears and falls down. So the metal part in the buckle has broken that locks the strap in place. The lock mechanism isn't working so I don't think blowing with air will work.

I was lucky, mine was just dirty.

Trying to get the belt part or belt itself replaced was becoming problematic, I can't remember the details but we were relieved it was just dirty. Good luck.

Go to Avenida 5 de Febrero y Ejercito in Guadalajara and drive along 5 de Febrero towards downtown.  Stop and ask one of the "runners" to go find you a replacement and they will do it for a few pesos. Easy peasy - may even be able to find one that is the same color.

I think I'll skip dealing with "runners". that is probably the hot spot street.

I tried wrecking yards and no luck. Asked a dealership up north and they would only sell the whole thing for about $650 US

Oh my. I know I will probably have to purchase the whole assembly if I can get it. the car is 2005. I have gotten into airport cabs where the seat buckle wouldn't lock, so this is the same thing. The metal assembly inside the buckle is broken. We have 3 seat belts in the back seat. Perhaps they can take out the center buckle from the back and move it to the passenger side. We never have 3 in the back seat as it is too crowded.
