I did when I first got it & it was under warranty. After that, I haven't needed to use them but would if it's needed & it looks like it will be since my model is on that list about the air bags.

Dalton is one of the best dealers for Honda and Toyota. Superb service.

My Honda is a 2010 model and is on the recall list. Someone told me that nothing is happening on that until February and that owners would be notified. If that's not the case, what should I be doing? It was purchased through S&S auto.

And remember a letter from Honda could take a very long time to get here (if ever).

Mine is a 2010 as well. I will check with S&S that I bought the car with as I live in a different place than I did when I bought the car. I would never get a letter since they don't know where I am now. Thanks for that website. I will look up the VIN later.

We had an accident several years ago in our FIT. (large animal running accross highway in the middle of nowhere) Smashed front end of car and airbags didn't deploy, so yes, we want airbags fixed. I'll see S&S first. I see a PITA in my future.

Re: HONDA Dealer
As long as you car is registered you should hear from them. At least in Canada they do not go by your original purchase info, but by current registration info.
Thanks all, and I might try Vanguardia - a bit easier to get to. I think.

Airbags do not go off until a set of circumstances are met which surprises many people. Trust me you don't want them to go off unless you really need them. It hurts and the powder left over is caustic. My 2013 Fit has been recalled for the airbag changes as all four are Takata brand. Older cars it is more critical to get the bags changed as even unplugging the fuse will not stop the bags from exploding and older airbags are the ones with problems. This is not something to fool around with on an older car. Hot, humid, and old makes the Takata airbags pop with metal pieces flying around the car. Does that get your attention? Do the recall especially if older car. I believe the Honda dealers in Guad. have the parts.

If you read my post, you'll note that "yes, we want airbags fixed" was included. The crash was sufficient to make the car undrivable and pull the seat belt out of its socket. And yes, it's going to be a real PITA which will probably involve more than one trip to Guad and car rental. And no, I don't want to take the chance of metal shards flying around the car.

Re: HONDA Dealer
Yea I say it cause lots of people are not paying attention to this recall. Don't take it personally probably should have said does this get everyones attention. They should be able to replace the airbags in one day. One person told me they pulled the fuse well it won't stop the problem. The bag just goes boom on its own as its a chemical problem I believe.
Honda was the largest customer of Takata airbags. Lucky us

Hah! You said "should". Sure, they should be able to replace the air bags in one day. Let's remember where we are.
More likely, they won't have ordered enough to fill the current need and they'll come on a slow boat from Japan. I have "hope" but little optimism.

Re: HONDA Dealer
I agree, Gringal. What they "should" be able to do often has nothing to do with how it actually goes. It is wise to never base hopes on what "should" be able to be done.

Maybe call the dealership and find out?

Presumably you will be making an appointment, and they will make sure they have the proper kit ready for you.

That's the ideal plan.

Re: HONDA Dealer
Most deployed airbags I've seen were bloody. They almost always cause burns and abrasions, sometimes even facial fractures. OTOH, they DO save lives.
Glad you guys are paying attention to the recall.
