Telcell message

Can anyone tell me how to leave a message on a Telcell phone? I don't understand the recorded message.

The message says that you will be charged for the call after the following tones. You will hear two beeps, then record your message and simply hang up. Hang up before the tones if you do not want to leave a message to not be charged.

I went to Telcel and they said something quite different; after the message & beep you leave your message, then push# and then 1 to confirm.

I just hang up after leaving a message. I think if you want to listen to or change your message, you can press # and then the appropriate number. I don't think it's necessary to press # and then 1 instead of hanging up.

Does anyone know how to record a personal greeting on a Telcel phone for when you can't answer?
