propane heater
turned on our propane heater this am, and when I turned off the gas, it didn't stop. I've turned the knob as hard as I can but the pilot light is still on. Any suggestions? I'm afraid to blow it out as propane would still be coming out, I think? Help!!!

Re: propane heater
I assume you have turned the valve on the tank off. If so and it is still coming out take the heater outside away from your house and call a plumber/gas guy to come and either fix it or take away the defective tank.

Re: propane heater
Clockwise turns gas valves off on 20L Heater/BBQ tanks. Mexican tanks have round shaped valve handle. US has triangle shape valve handle because of OPD valve (overflow protection device). Each takes a different hose thus US tanks cannot be filled without an adapter in Mexico or visa versa. Never have a partially filled Mexican tank filled without telling person filling how full tank is. In US tank the OPD valve closes and stops the filling of tank so no danger as you can't overfill tank. It is best to run the Mexican tanks all the way down to avoid over filling. It will sputter a little before it dies and I stop using the tank at this point. Something learned is to buy a spare tank so when tank dies you still have another in garage or wherever and don't have to run off to get tank filled during a cold spell or in the middle of your steak cooking. Another option I use for my BBQ/heater is to run it off the big house tank. Only trick is to put some weight where the tank use to be to keep unit from becoming top heavy. Question what is used in Canada as I only know Mexico and USA type tanks?
Sorry for all the blah blah information but I learned much the hard way and why should you learn it the way I did?

Don't know the number but it is one door south of the southeast corner of Felipe Angeles and Colon, on Colon, the east side.
I believe the name of the taller is Electro Domestico.
